Agronomy Career Outlook
Past agricultural research has created higher yielding crops, crops with better resistance to pests and plant pathogens, and more effective fertilizers and pesticides. Research is still necessary, however, particularly as insects and diseases continue to adapt to pesticides and as soil fertility and water quality continue to need improvement.
Emerging biotechnologies will play an ever larger role in agricultural research. Scientists will be needed to apply these technologies to the creation of new food products and other advances.

Floriculture
The flower has acquired an unique position in our lives. Floriculture deals with growing or cultivation (large scale) of beautiful flowering plants. It is a branch of horticulture (A science of growing vegetables, fruits and flowers) which deals with flower cultivation on a commercial scale, its marketing and selling. If taken on broad perspective, it even includes flower arrangement. The very common plants grown for their flowers are different varieties of Chrysanthemum, Aster, Dahlia and other Compositae plants, Gladiolii... |

Eukaryote / Eukarya
Animals, plants, fungi, and protists are eukaryotes organisms whose cells are organized into complex structures enclosed within membranes. The defining membrane-bound structure that differentiates eukaryotic cells from prokaryotic cells is the nucleus. The presence of a nucleus gives these organisms their name, which comes from the Greek (eu), meaning "good/true," and (karyon), "nut." Many eukaryotic cells contain other membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, chloroplasts and Golgi bodies. |

Global Impact of Biotechnology
In recent years revolution in biology has occurred due to the potential of biotechnology. Techniques have been developed to produce rare and medicinally valuable molecules, to change hereditary traits of plants and animals, to diagnose diseases to produce useful chemicals and, to clean up and restore the environment. In this way biotechnology has great impact in the fields of health, food/agriculture and environmental protection. Due to rapid development the present situation is that there is no difference between pharmaceutical firms and biotechnology industry. |

Animal Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture
Animal cell, tissue and organ can be cultured like plant cell, tissue and organs on artificial media in controlled conditions. Now-a-days several valuable products or medical use have been produced through animal cell culture or genetically engineered cells. However, demand of many others is increasing. Like plant cells, the animal cells of different types for desired colors, sources, etc. may be cultured in vitro by providing artificial conditions, and desired products can be obtained from them. One of the most remarkable examples are the monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, etc. |
